About The Struts

If you’re going to call your band The Struts, you’d better have the swagger to back it up. And fortunately, that’s never been a problem for this cocksure quartet from the Derbyshire region of England. At a time when the charts are dominated by rap and R&B acts, The Struts have shown there’s still a place for hard-rock riffage, flamboyant showmanship and fringed-sleeve leather jackets in the mainstream. Their 2014 debut, Everybody Wants, proved the band not only possessed the classic-rock chops to earn opening slots for The Who, Guns N’ Roses and The Rolling Stones, they also delivered the sort of huge, handclapped hooks (“Could Have Been Me,” “Kiss This”) that could stand alongside the biggest Top 40 hitmakers. The Struts have continued to indulge their modern-pop affinities without sacrificing their sleazy essence: Their 2017 Live and Unplugged EP included a cover of “Hotline Bling” that reimagined the Drake hit as an acoustic hair-metal ballad, while their 2018 full-length Young & Dangerous saw them team up with Kesha for bluesy knockout “Body Talks.”
