The Western trend that has swept music, fashion, and pop culture is bigger than ever, and beloved rapper Yung Gravy joined the movement with the release of Serving Country and the Grits & Gravy Tour that stopped through Tempe’s Marquee Theatre last week.
Carter Vail was hand selected by Yung Gravy to open this leg of the tour, so the AZ crowd was treated to his alt pop-rock to open the show. And between sets, DJ Tiiiiiiiiiip kept the energy up with an eclectic mix of Top 40 hits and nostalgic throwbacks (notably, “Best of Both Worlds” by Hannah Montana).
As is tradition, Yung Gravy’s set was a spectacle of funny visuals, outfit changes — the white starry cowboy getup clearly the standout — and crowd interactions. You’ll never be bored aboard the Gravy Train.
