London indie rock trio Palace brought their signature blend of atmospheric guitars, dreamy melodies and raw emotion to a sold out crowd at The Van Buren in Phoenix last week with support from Rollo Doherty. The stop came as part of the band’s 2026 North American tour in support of their recently released fifth studio album.
Opening the evening was Rollo Doherty, frontman of indie-rock band ISLAND, who took the stage solo but made full use of his sound. Through creative looping, layered instrumentation, and an assortment of effects, Doherty built a dynamic performance that felt much bigger than one person on stage.
Exploring themes of love, fatherhood, and personal growth, Ox marks a more organic, open-hearted chapter for Palace while staying true to the immersive sound that has earned them a devoted following. Throughout the evening, the band moved seamlessly between old favorites and new material, delivering a set that showcased both their evolution and the sound fans have come to love. Palace closed out the night with “Brown Bread”, bringing their sold out Phoenix show to a memorable finish.
