It’s still plenty hot in Arizona so The 502s’ sunny Easy Street Tour was the perfect destination for Arizona concertgoers this week. The Van Buren slowly filled up for a night that evoked balmy summers under the stars.
Texas-based duo Briscoe opened the night, adding an element of Americana to the tour. Their smooth blend of country and folk-tinged tunes put the audience at ease, with many sporting Briscoe shirts scattered throughout the room. The band was laidback onstage, smiling through guitar solos and harmonica riffs to properly warm up the audience for the main event.
As The 502s took the stage, you could practically hear the ocean and see the Florida palms swaying behind the band. The indie group provided nothing but good vibes from the first notes of “Sayonara” and “Waves” while the crowd bobbed appreciatively to the beat and the impressive saxophone solos. The band spent the whole set smiling at the audience and at each other, clearly enjoying their time together onstage and making the show all the better for it. Over 20 songs later, the set closed with “Just a Little While” before a highly demanded encore of “Stories to Tell”. The sun may have set on the Easy Street Tour’s Arizona show, but The 502s will certainly be welcomed back with open arms upon their next visit to Phoenix.
