The Van Buren had a solid crowd last week when From Ashes to New brought their New Disease Tour to Phoenix. The heavy rock group leveled up their production for a show that was visually exciting and included all the fans’ favorite songs.
Until I Wake and Magnolia Park got the audience fired up with tons of onstage energy but the room really lit up when From Ashes to New emerged in a haze of deep red light. Singers Danny Case and Matt Brandyberry seamlessly went line for line through “Nightmare”, “Monster in Me” and much more as the fans on the barricade shouted along.
The set was augmented with dramatic lights, columns of smoke and guitarist Lance Dowdle’s lower face mask. The band played through even more songs- notably “Light Up the Sky”, “Hate Me Too” and “Barely Breathing”- before the show closed out with “Panic”. The fans jumped and headbanged to their heart’s content and left the New Disease Tour exhausted and looking forward to the band’s next visit to Phoenix.
