Arizona was looking for a “Vacay” and they found it with Aminé’s Tour de Dance last week. The feel-good rapper has graduated to Arizona Financial Theatre’s sweeping stage and the audience turned up and turned out on a Thursday night. Aminé physically boxed in his performance with three walls of LED screens for artwork and lyrics to accompany his high energy set but always made sure to venture up to the crowd to make everyone a part of the show.
As is tradition, Aminé goes into every show with the goal of making sure that his audiences know just how special and important they are. With a chant of “You’re beautiful!” and the crowd responding “I know!”, the vibes were immaculate throughout the set. It’s impossible not to smile and dance along to “13MOS” or “Arc de Triomphe” and not a single fan stayed in their seat with the beats bumping.
One lucky longtime fan was pulled onstage to sign the Phoenix edition of the tour pants while Aminé spoke to the room in a longer breath between songs. The show kept rolling with “REDMERCEDES”- a fan favorite- and “Heebiejeebies” as he took Arizona through every era of his music. The audience sang along to every word but really erupted at the first notes of “Spice Girl” and “Caroline”. Aminé certainly knows and loves his fans and with one final shout to make sure everyone felt beautiful, the show came to a close with everyone riding the high of his sunny energy all the way home.
