Show Review: Livingston’s story continues with impressive Phoenix performance

It was a family night out this week when Livingston’s The Story Continues Tour visited The Van Buren in Phoenix. Parents toting kids, excitable teens and more piled into the Arizona venue for an evening spent in awe of Livingston’s incredible live set.

Opening the show was Braden Bales, a burgeoning pop singer in his own right. After finding viral fame when “Chronically Cautious” spread like wildfire across TikTok, the singer is now on the road to bring the rest of his music to the masses. Fans on the barricade were ready to sing along and he made the audience part of the show, joking with the front row and encouraging them to participate in his onstage antics. His set was brief but definitely memorable and plenty of new fans left their spots for a chance to meet Bales after the show.

Livingston is only in his early 20s but his impressive vocal talents have had him on the music world’s radar for quite some time. Also finding viral fame on TikTok at the start of his career, Livingston has pushed past just soundbites and clips for a live set that shows the depth of his current abilities and the potential for what’s to come. By the time we hit “Warrior”, anyone on the fence was all in and the crowd waved their hands as one body, swaying at Livingston’s command.

He already knows how to move an audience and spent plenty of time on the barricade in order to be even closer to the fans as the night went on. “Last Man Standing” and “Godspeed” were powerful interludes in an already solid set, leaving the audience clamoring for more by the end. After “Gravedigger”- a fan favorite- and a much-demanded encore, Livingston exited the room with the full knowledge that Phoenix will always be a welcoming stop on any future tours.
