Denzel Curry is going worldwide this year. Hot on the heels of his 2024 album, King of the Mischievous South, the Miami rapper drew a massive crowd at Camp Flog Gnaw in November and then hit the road in February for an extensive tour through Australia, North America, and Europe. For his U.S. opener, he sold out The Van Buren in downtown Phoenix to kick off the week with a properly raucous throwdown.
Opening acts Clip, 454, and Kenny Mason were the hype generators — and the crowd gave it right back in spades for the highly anticipated headline set. The room was a sea of jumping fans, many of whom could rap line for line to “GOATED”, “SKED”, and old favorites like “Ultimate”. Curry flashed mischievous smiles as he strutted across the stage, leaning into his persona, and the room ate it up. The king is back, and he’s making sure the world won’t forget it.
