There’s nothing quite like a Sunday night show to cap off the weekend, especially when it’s a sold out performance at Tempe’s legendary Marquee Theatre. This past Sunday was one of those unforgettable nights, packed wall-to-wall with fans ready to dance and vibe out to a killer lineup. Still Woozy’s Loveseat Tour, with support from Gus Dapperton and Paw Paw Rod, was a full-blown celebration of music, connection and absolute good times.
The night kicked off with Paw Paw Rod, who wasted no time getting the crowd moving. With his signature blend of hip-hop, funk and soul, it was impossible not to get swept up in his energy. Every track had this undeniable groove that made you want to bop along. By the time he closed his set with his hit, “Hit Em Where It Hurts”, the crowd was all in, belting out the lyrics and hyped for what was coming next.
Gus Dapperton hit the stage with his unique style that’s both laid-back and electric at the same time. One minute he’s swaying gently, and the next he’s jumping around, making you feel like you’re part of something bigger. The crowd was totally into it with a feeling like we were all on the same wavelength. Dapperton’s set ended and the anticipation in the air was palpable before Still Woozy’s headlining set.
Still Woozy (aka Sven Gamsky) burst onto the stage with the kind of energy that makes you want to get up and move, no matter how tired you are. There’s this effortless vibe he creates that pulls everyone in, like you’re hanging out in your living room with friends- except those friends happen to be a couple thousand fellow fans and your living room is lit up with crazy, colorful visuals.
The setlist was filled with gems from Loveseat like “Shotput” and “Again,” and of course, some of the classics like “Goodie Bag” that had the entire venue singing along to every song.
But the highlight of the night has to be when Gamsky jumped into the crowd. He didn’t just perform for us; he was out there dancing, singing, and genuinely connecting with everyone around him. It’s those moments that make a show truly memorable and the fans were definitely living for it.
The bright, fun and slightly outlandish visuals throughout the show were on another level as well. It was clear that a lot of thought went into every detail, making it an immersive experience from start to finish. The whole set felt like stepping into Still Woozy’s colorful and surreal universe—full of unexpected twists and zero judgment.
As the night came to a close and the final notes rang out, the crowd was still buzzing, not ready for it to end. There was this shared feeling that we’d just experienced something really special—one of those concerts that stays with you long after the lights go up and the venue empties out. Still Woozy’s Loveseat Tour isn’t just about showcasing his new album- it’s about creating a space where everyone can come together, let loose and feel like part of a family.
