Show Review: Remi Wolf brings sass and spunk to Big Ideas Tour in Phoenix

If there’s one thing you need to know about Remi Wolf, it’s that she’s unlike anyone else on the scene right now. Her voice, her style, her whole vibe — it’s hers and hers alone. And on her Big Ideas Tour stop in Phoenix, she brought the full package: a live band, unfiltered storytelling, and DGAF sass that made the show feel like a chaotic, colorful party you were lucky to crash.

For starters, Remi and her live band have become friends after so many weeks on the road, and the onstage banter and antics are just plain fun. (Prime example: During “Pitiful,” she and her guitarist did dramatic interpretive movements that elicited smiles from both them and the crowd.)

It’s just one way Remi Wolf showcases her big personality. She’s full of spunk, and she tells you exactly what’s on her mind, whether it’s her wild ride at a Playboy event in Miami that inspired “Alone in Miami” (where she ditched the party scene and went solo to devour Cubanos), or the internal battle between wanting to be a health queen and just leaning into her current “degenerate” phase — smoking, drinking, and soaking up what her 20s have to offer.

As the night went on, the setlist felt like one long string of hits. The crowd was singing along to every word, and it’s easy to forget just how popular her songs have become. “Toro” is a personal favorite and was a delight to see live, but she really let loose on “Soup,” showcasing the raw power of her voice. She’s got range, and her live vocals put that front and center.

Remi Wolf has the personality to appeal to multiple generations — who else is out there covering “Life Is a Highway” because their favorite movie is Cars? — and the talent to back it up. And she’s full of Big Ideas, so stay tuned for whatever comes next.
