Show Review: Joey Valence and Brae turn up the bass on the No Hands Tour

After experiencing massive viral success on TikTok and other platforms, Joey Valence and Brae took their show off the internet and into the sold out Nile Theater on Monday. Fans lined up around the building to pack the historic Arizona venue for a night of pure energy and genuine hype.

RomancePlanet opened the night to get the room warmed up. His blend of EDM and hip hop was not unfamiliar to the fans and they jumped along to “See Your Face” and “Alone in the Dark”. The audience even bathed the venue in their own lights, shining their phones toward the stage as the set came to a close with “Fall From the Sky”.

Joey Valence and Brae let their DJ start the party with plenty of classic songs before the duo bounded onstage for an abbreviated version of “The Baddest”. The “TikTok Beastie Boys” (as overheard in the audience before the show) had intensity to spare and their set was more of a sprint than a marathon.

Both members of the duo had their own moments in the spotlight but it was their ability to effortlessly play off each other that made this performance special. One this is absolutely for sure- the kids are all in on Valence and Brae and opened up several push pits throughout the course of the 60 minute set.

It’s the No Hands Tour so naturally they played the song it was named for, followed by “Bussit” and “Tanaka”. “Did everyone have a Brat summer?” Brae shouted cheekily at the crowd right before launching into their cover/remix of Charli XCX’s “365”.

The main set ended with the full version of viral hit “The Baddest” (sans appearance from Ayesha Erotica) and the bounding bass of “Omnitrix”. The crowd wasn’t ready to let this party end and their cheers brought everyone back onstage for “Punk Tactics” to close the night with a bang. Valence and Brae are still on the road so if you’re looking for party any day of the week, don’t miss the No Hands Tour.
