Phoenix was invited to Becky G’s Casa Gomez for her headlining tour stop at Arizona Financial Theatre this week. The venue was packed for a Sunday night and fans of all ages sang joyfully in both English and Spanish to the pop princess’ plethora of hits.
With only a DJ present to get the night rolling, the crowd was warmed up for Becky’s dramatic entrance through the mirrored doorway of Casa Gomez. Act I of the set had her surrounded by dancers as they all flowed together through the songs. After some intense choreography, Becky greeted her fans and was met by passionate cheers and the whole room chanting her name.
With her bright outfit, deep red stage lights and constant smile, Becky breathed life and warmth into the room and that love was reciprocated at every turn. One heartwarming moment happened when she picked a very excited young fan to be the night’s honorary “Dolores”, bringing her onstage in all her glittery glory to be serenaded and cheered on by the audience.
Two lucky fans were also selected to choose their favorite songs to be added to Becky’s set- and that honor came with a shot of tequila with Becky herself. She fully embraces her fans of every age and there is space for everyone in these various segments of her show.
The final act of the set was all hits back to back- and the room was up and dancing along. It was an evening of joy and gratitude, celebration and inclusion and ended with Becky’s first pop radio hit, “Shower”. Arizona loves Becky G and her lovely and diverse fanbase is already waiting for her return to Phoenix.
