Gallery: John Summit is a force of nature at his biggest Arizona headliner to date

John Summit is in nonstop motion: jet setting all over the world, playing DJ sets at all hours of the day, and always saying yes to the afters — while still releasing music along the way. Hot on the heels of his debut album, Comfort in Chaos, he stopped through Arizona’s Rawhide Event Center on Friday night for his biggest headliner to date. Fifteen thousand fans danced the night away to sets by RAFI, Fallon, and Elderbrook before Summit stepped on stage at midnight. But neither the late hour nor the late summer heat deterred the crowd. It was a sea of people moving and grooving to a mix that went from house to trance to dubstep with plenty of Summit’s own tracks, including the brand new “Gas Pedal Remix” he created with Subtronics. Meanwhile, the signature Rawhide production supplemented the music with pyro, fireworks, smoke, and psychedelic visuals. And we can’t say no to a large-scale spectacle.
