K-pop group ONEUS has leveled up in the last year and they brought their massive 2024 world tour- La Dolce Vita- to Arizona Financial Theatre on Monday. The five-member group gave the packed theatre a two hour spectacle, with a setlist that spanned all of their albums and boasted dancers, stunning backdrops and eye-catching choreography.
The night started promptly as Seoho, Leedo, Keonhee, Hwanwoong and Xion emerged from the wings to ask the screaming fans to “Baila Conmigo”. After a high energy rendition of “Erase Me”, the boys took their first of many breaks to introduce themselves and chat with the fans, officially and affectionately known as TOMOONs. Armed with official lightsticks and wielding gifts for the group, the audience made their love for ONEUS abundantly clear with their incessant screaming all night long.
Since their last visit to Arizona in 2023, the size of the crowd has doubled and even the group seemed to spend much of their set in delighted disbelief at how many fans filled the room. Rapper Leedo apologized early on for being sick and not as energetic so his bandmates and the fans poured their energy towards the stage to boost him up during the lengthy set. The concert also included the traditional K-pop VCRs- visually stunning video interludes that usually build on a storyline or lore created by the group that all tie together by the end.
After these videos, ONEUS re-emerged in brand new outfits and took the audience on a trip to South Korea with their traditional choreography for “Luna” and “Same Scent”. Unable to resist the boys’ charms, the crowd could be heard screaming the names of the members and even barking in their direction as they spoke to the fans.
This tour found the band switching up their setlist and they placed “Come Back Home” right in the middle to reinvigorate the intensity in the room with their high flying choreography. Every member had their moment to shine- from Seoho’s roof-shattering vocals to Hwanwoong’s irresistible dancing and everything in between. After the final VCRs, the end of the set was near- but first, ONEUS calmed things down with seated performances of “Epilogue” and “Halley’s Comet”.
Cheekily saying that it was the last song, ONEUS jumped right into “No Diggity” before- of course- returning in their tour merch to blast through “Black Mirror” (one of the best K-pop songs out there) and “BBUSYEO”. Even though their fanbase has grown so much in the last few years, the guys still wanted to be close to their fans during the last song. With a promise to remain in our seats, the guys left the stage to run through the crowd, high-fiving fans, taking selfies and accepting adorable gifts from prepared TOMOONs.
Once more, ONEUS expressed their love for their fans and promised to return to Phoenix- a place that has always welcomed the group from their humble start to this incredible world tour. The group bounded offstage to the tune of “Life is Beautiful” as fans left the venue already eagerly awaiting the next tour announcement.
