Gallery: Paul Russell and Shaggy headline the 34th Chandler Chamber Ostrich Festival kickoff weekend

The Chandler Chamber Ostrich Festival kicked off its 34th year on Friday night with the first of two weekends featuring live music, carnival rides and- of course- actual ostriches. The beloved East Valley event provides fun for all ages and families flocked to the neon lights shining from the Ferris wheels and other attractions for an evening that narrowly missed the rainy weather sweeping through the area.

Friday’s main stage boasted a power lineup of viral sensation Paul Russell and reggae star Shaggy. Russell was backed by a DJ and plenty of good vibes as he got the audience dancing and singing to his mega-popular “Say Cheese” and “Lil Boo Thang”. His infectious energy summoned even more of the crowd wandering the grounds over to the stage and he had a properly large audience by the time his set closed out.

Shaggy took the stage to close out the evening and his audience was ready to shake their hips and dance all night long. His undeniable swagger was the main event, drawing plenty of shrieks from the fans as he ran through all the hits- it was certainly a “Boombastic” set.

The Ostrich Festival runs for another weekend starting on March 15th so don’t miss all the action! Find tickets and more information here.
