Arizona’s own hip hop radio behemoth Power 98.3 brought a stellar lineup to Desert Diamond Arena on Saturday night. The rescheduled Powerhouse concert boasted a wide range of talent that entertained an excited crowd late into the evening.
There were plenty of openers to get the party going and things really started to pick up steam with Joyner Lucas and Young Nudy. Both artists are having killer moments in their own rights and the crowd was on their feet to enjoy both sets.
Tech N9ne is well known and well loved for his high energy performances and genuine nature both onstage and off- that atmosphere had the audience shouting their approval when the prolific rapper took the stage. He’s one of the most dynamic performers in hip hop, prowling the length of the stage and even performing an entire song amidst a very respectful audience.
Last but not least, Kevin Gates sauntered out for the final performance of the evening and brought a little gospel energy to the show. He has obvious energy and star power but it’s his command of the stage that really took his headlining slot to the next level. After an evening of all that energy, the audience picked up and continued the festivities with Gates’ afterparty and the hopes that Power 98.3 will bring another showcase like this to Arizona’s arenas.
