Diehard Dermot Kennedy fans packed Arizona Financial Theatre on Saturday to be up close and personal with the acclaimed singer. With a setlist pulling from his entire discography and a backdrop of jaw-dropping production, the Sonder Tour was a spectacle for the adoring audience.
Mehro kicked off the night with a brief but beautiful performance that had the room swaying to the dulcet sounds of his voice. He’s had a smattering of well-received hits and his new single “exploding” certainly allowed the fans to expel some of that early evening energy.
Kennedy hasn’t made an appearance in Arizona for quite some time and his return was celebrated all night long. The Irish singer-songwriter performed passionately for 18 songs , including smash hits “Power Over Me” and “Outnumbered”. He even stepped behind the piano for soulful renditions of “Rome” and “Innocence and Sadness” for a breathtaking interlude.
It was an evening of gratitude and excitement for both new and old fans and the crowded theatre started their collective weekend on a wonderful high note.
