Show Review: CIX’s Save Me, Kill Me world tour lights up Tempe

As the KPOP wave continues to grow, more groups have made Arizona a regular stop on their tours- and Tempe’s Marquee Theatre was treated to an appearance by CIX last month. The five member group showed off their incredible performing chops on the Save Me, Kill Me Tour.

The LED screen behind them lit up with their logo, throwing the members into silhouette for a dramatic entrance to “Numb”. A solidly full venue made their excitement known with ear-splitting shrieks directed at Jinyoung, BX, Seunghun, Hyunsuk and Yonghee. CIX, for their part, was magnetic and their vocal prowess and fluid dancing elevated songs like “Jungle” and “Like It That Way”.

Each member also had their shot at a solo, with everyone choosing a current favorite song to delight the room. The guys also went through a handful of outfit changes, allowing themselves and the audience a breather between passionate performances.

Towards the end of the night, all five members expressed happiness at being able to tour in the United States and for so many of their fans who’d come out to the shows across the country. Arizona was part of the latter half of the tour but CIX showed no signs of their energy lagging- instead they gave us even more to close out the show with “Cinema” and “The One”.

We’ve been so lucky to have some amazing performers in the KPOP world visit Phoenix and CIX left their mark on a thrilled audience. As we’ve seen before, next time the group visits, the room will be packed to the rafters with new fans and we’ll be back to capture the group’s inevitable, well-deserved success.
