Show Review: Yung Gravy and bbno$ bring feral crowd out for AZ stop of the Baby Gravy Tour

The party won’t start till Yung Gravy walks in- and in the case of Saturday night, that was 20 minutes early to the surprise of a massive crowd at Arizona Financial Theatre. The rapper was joined by bbno$ for a dual set of both artists’ songs, a hype man/DJ and plenty of blinding lights to illuminate the fans clamoring at the barricade.

The dynamic duo’s been switching up their setlist each night of this tour, but the vibes remain the same. Gravy and bbno$ sauntered up and down the stage, backed by massive LED screens playing out raunchy cartoons and visuals for songs like “1 Thot 2 Thot Red Thot Blue Thot” (a Gen-Z Dr. Suess parody dream) and “touch grass” (which is something everyone in the room probably needed to do).

Gravy has undeniable swagger and stage presence, inspiring hundreds of fans to toss bras, flowers and other tokens onstage in hopes of getting the lanky rapper’s attention. He blew kisses, caught all the presents and high-fived a whole row of people who are probably never going to wash those hands again.

Bbno$ had a spotlight mini-set in the middle as well, playing favorites “Top Gun”, “Help Herself” and more. The hype was just as real for his set as it was for Gravy’s- the fans knew the words and made sure he felt the love.

The word of the day was feral, especially when Gravy kicked into the encore- post “Tampa Bay Bustdown”- of TikTok viral hits “Oops!” and “Betty (Get Money)”. If you’ve been anywhere near the internet in the last year, you know that escaping these tracks is nearly impossible but when they’re that irreverently catchy, who would want to avoid them?

The youths (and their moms) fully understood the night’s assignment to shake the floor and close out the year with the most lit party this tour could possibly throw. Even the obviously casual fans or plus ones of the evening were seen bopping along to the earworms put out by these two artists and they made it known that they’re just getting started.
