Gallery: Gogol Bordello celebrates ‘Solidaritine’ with energetic Tempe concert

New York punk group Gogol Bordello descended on Tempe’s Marquee Theatre this week to bring joy to the eclectic crowd that turned up. The band has a colorful eight-member cast of multi-talented musicians and singers and they got the crowd moving all night long.

Frontman Eugene Hutz was electric onstage, bounding back and forth with his guitar in tow- but always shining the spotlight on his bandmates. With everyone chipping in on vocals and playing every instrument under the sun, the whole band riled the audience into a mass of bouncing humanity through songs like “Immigrant Punk” and “Focus Coin”.

The band is celebrating the release of their latest album and splashed Solidaritine across the huge banner behind them. Watching Gogol Bordello has always brought Atlas so much joy and this week’s experience was another entry in the list of stellar performances from a killer band.
