Show Review: Disclosure packs the pool at Scottsdale DJ set

Will Smith sang “party in the city where the heat is on” about Miami, but the lyric absolutely applies to the Valley — especially during Release season. Relentless Beats has been bringing renowned producers to Scottsdale’s Talking Stick Resort pool for Release @ TSR for years, and the party is back in full swing with a stacked summer calendar.

Saturday’s sold out event packed the pool full of fans and friends eager to let loose and dance with Disclosure under the night sky. The set list: full of crowd favorites, including “When a Fire Starts to Burn” and “White Noise” that made early appearances. The visuals: a kaleidoscope of colors and the face illustrations that mark the Disclosure brand. The crowd: fully prepared with inflatable totems.

As their set was nearing the end, the duo teased the first beats of “Latch” a few times to bring the energy to its peak. All eyes were on the stage as they thanked everyone for coming out, but there wasn’t any need for a lengthy speech. There was an international hit to play. And after watching the crowd get lost in the music, they simply couldn’t resist playing one more song. “Tondo” capped off the night, sending the fans off in style.
