Show Review: Payton Moormeier headlines fun afternoon of influencer pop at Boys of Summer Tour

In the ever-changing world of teen influencers, the Boys of Summer Tour has gathered some of TikTok’s top young talent for a cross-country trek full of music, meet and greets and memories.

2021’s version brought headliner and rising pop star Payton Moormeier to Arizona’s AURA nightclub for a matinee performance. He was joined by a plethora of other teen singers and rappers- including Ashley Newman, Dylan Hartman, Retro Color, Avi Angel and so many more.

The concert kicked off midafternoon as a room full of screaming youths reached for the stage in the hopes of getting their idols to notice them. Between short sets, groups of these influencers came out to interact with the fans in the form of stage games and selfies.

Moormeier was the talk of the show, however, and the hype continued to build for his set before he took the stage at golden hour. At only 17 years old, he’s quickly moved through the ranks of internet celeb and built a frenetic following for his fun pop sound and instant charm. He ran through a set of new material, including recent singles “3AM” and “Drive Away”, to the absolute feverish delight of the audience before hopping over to end the day with an eagerly anticipated meet and greet with his devotees.
