Show Review: AZ gets a shot of Euphoria with Louis the Child

Louis the Child debuted their Euphoria Tour at Arizona’s Rawhide Event Center on Saturday. Closing out Relentless Beats’ summer concert series, the 32-date North American tour features a variety of guests on staggered legs of the tour, creating a unique experience at nearly every stop.

Phoenix sold out the first stop and was in return blessed with a stacked lineup consisting of ilo ilo, K.flay, and Jai Wolf. The element really makes this tour stand out, however, is that Louis the Child themselves warmed up the crowd for the night. Starting the show out with a Playground set not only rewarded the early bird mega fans, but set the tone for the entire evening: we were there to party, and trying to delay a good time was a fool’s errand.

Next, mysterious newcomers ilo ilo made some new fans in the Valley, treating the crowd to live vocals and instrumentals that rivaled their stellar production. K.flay then added some variety to the night, performing her rock-electronic fusion with a live band. Despite what appeared to be a mood shift, the set remained cohesive and the harder sound added a level of drama to the carefully curated lineup.

Jai Wolf then maximized the hype by sandwiching in back-to-back fan favorites, invigorating the crowd before Louis the Child stole the show. With an electric crowd and stacked set, it became clear that this tour was not only built to get these artists back on the road after a long break. The Euphoria tour serves as a welcome back to the EDM community, ushering in once more the fun and positivity that we’ve been missing for so long.
