Gallery: Twin XL return home for sold out headliner

With catchy, whimsical tunes like alt radio favorite “Good,” it’s no wonder why Twin XL are the perfect summertime band. And it’s no wonder why their first headlining show was a quick sellout that kicked off the weekend—Thursday is the new Friday, especially in the dog days of summer—with a packed dance party to the tune of their debut EP, How to Talk to Strangers.

Adam Simons and his band Wanderer kicked off the night with a set full of indie summer vibes. Fans swayed and plenty sang along to Simons’ catchy new tunes before the evening’s main event.

Up front, two glowing signs read “WE ARE TWIN XL” and “WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS” while Stephen Gomez, John Gomez, and Cameron Walker positively ruled the crowd. The fans pressed close for “Sunglasses” and “Thrill”, keeping the dance party going into the night. The trio (and tour drummer Dave Briggs) got their hometown hero moment, and nobody could look away.
