As we close out 2017, we’d like to take a step back from all of the negativity to showcase a few bands that promoters across the country have chosen as the BEST band they worked with this year. Support touring artists and give these guys a listen.
Cody Sizemore- Innovation Concerts (OH)
Band: Real Friends
This is a tough question, but if I had to pick one band, it would have to be Real Friends. The thing that sticks out about them is that their bass player, Kyle, told me about how he throws local shows in Chicago at a bowling alley to help build their scene/local bands. I love that Kyle’s heart is in the right place and he’s doing his part to give back.
Morgan Carney- Rocketown (TN)
Band: Froggy Fresh
Froggy Fresh was definitely my favorite show of 2017. Tyler was such a down to earth guy and made sure every kid in the room got a picture dunking on him. He really is the baddest of them all.
Eric Presz- The Saluto Agency
Band: Mundy’s Bay
Mundy’s Bay from Montreal is easily my favorite band I worked with all year. Such sweet and genuine people. Very dedicated to their craft, can’t say enough good things about them. The kind of band that wins you over with their music and then continues to win you over with their personality.
Maria Taratsas- The Garage (MN)
Band: Shatterproof
Shatterproof would be my choice as favorite artist to have booked, due to their energetic, charismatic and overall gracious attitudes. They leave a lasting impression with fans and venue staff alike.
Kevin Reynoso- New Island Entertainment (NY)
Band: Keep Flying
They have a fun and energetic live performance. They are super tight musically, always on point.
David Forster- PinUp Productions (CA)
Band: Bury Your Dead
The nostalgia of hearing them playing songs from Cover Your Tracks was overwhelming. The dudes were so respectful and appreciative of the show, it felt incredible to be appreciated by such legends.
Benny Scholl- El Corazon/Funhouse (WA)
Band: Shatterproof
My favorite band I booked in 2017 was Shatterproof hailing from Fort Collins, CO. I had the pleasure of working with them on multiple occasions and truly saw the passion from them. I was lucky enough to get to tour with them last summer and see them kill it every night. I can’t wait to see them become the biggest band in the world.
Geoff Brent- Soda Jerk Presents (CO)
Band: Sorority Noise
Just a really great band. Their last album was like a huge artistic leap for them and it’s been awesome to see how much their music and live show have grown. Cameron is just a really nice humble dude and it’s great to see them blow up the way they have this year and stay chill.
